Is designing signatures that contain animated drawings assembled using Photoshop, and saving them on a computer, forbidden (haram)? If so, what are the proofs, and how did they become forbidden? What advice is directed to members regarding drawings of living beings and other things?
It is permissible to use design programs if the following Sharia controls are met:
1. The design must not include images of living beings, whether drawn or copied, because depicting living beings is forbidden by the majority of scholars, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Those who make these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Bring to life what you have created.'" It is permissible to draw inanimate objects such as trees and stones. 2. The owners of the images must not explicitly reserve their copyrights. 3. The phrases in the designs must not contain anything forbidden, such as lies or self-praise. 4. The effects must not include music or forbidden singing.
