What is the ruling on the prayer of one who suffered from urinary incontinence for four years and neglected to seek a fatwa during that time, and is he required to repeat it?

The questioner's situation is one of two:

1. Mere sensation of something exiting without certainty: In this case, nothing is required of him; rather, it is better to ignore it. 2. Certainty of urine exiting, which has two scenarios: If it is continuous or its regular cessation time is unknown: This is incontinence ( سلس ). He should perform ablution (wudu') after the time for prayer begins, and what exits does not harm him. If it is not continuous, or it has a regular cessation time: He is not considered incontinent. He must purify his body and clothes and delay ablution and prayer until the time of cessation. His prayer with impurity is not valid. If he prays knowing the impurity is present, his prayer is not invalid, and he is not required to make it up, but he must repent.
