The answer

Commercial insurance in all its forms is forbidden (haram). Life insurance involves usury (riba), gambling (qimar), and uncertainty (gharar), while health insurance involves gambling but not usury, and it is permissible when there is a need for it. If a company provides health insurance for its employees, it is permissible to benefit from it. As for commercial life insurance, participation in it is not permissible. If a company provides it for its employees, they must object and ensure that nothing is deducted from their salaries for it. If an employee dies and the insurance company gives money to their heirs, it is permissible for them to take it, because it is money that its owners have willingly relinquished and offered.
