Is it permissible to pray in shoes out of necessity or not?

It is permissible to pray with pure shoes and sandals, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed with his sandals. He also reported that Gabriel came to him and informed him that there was dirt on them, so he removed them. He commanded to remove them if there was any dirt or impurity on them, and that their purification is earth. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Act differently from the Jews, pray in your khuff (leather socks) and sandals."
