Friday prayer is obligatory based on evidence from the Quran, Sunnah, and scholarly consensus. This obligation does not differ between a land of disbelief (dar al-kufr) and a land of Islam (dar al-Islam). Whoever abandons it in a land of disbelief without a valid excuse is sinful.
