What is the ruling on a fasting person touching women's hands, talking, and laughing with them in the month of Ramadan? Is it merely disliked (makruh) or does it invalidate the fast?

It is not permissible to look at non-mahram women, joke with them, or intermingle with them, due to the temptation inherent in such actions. Touching them is even more serious, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than to touch a woman who is not lawful for him." Sinning in the holy month carries a greater burden of iniquity, so one must hasten to sincere repentance, frequent seeking of forgiveness, and resolve not to return to such acts, so that the fasting may be free from transgressions that diminish its reward. For the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever does not abandon false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need for him to abandon his food and drink." The forbidden acts committed by the questioner do not invalidate the fast unless semen or prostatic fluid is emitted. If prostatic fluid is emitted, only a compensatory fast (qada') is required. If semen is emitted, both qada' and expiation (kaffarah) are required according to the Maliki school.
