Can a devout worshiper who draws near to Allah through supererogatory acts, thereby earning Allah's love, protection, and preservation of his faith, lose his faith out of ignorance? And why would Allah not protect and support him? And how can we worship Allah with knowledge, not out of ignorance?

The aforementioned Hadith was narrated by Al-Bukhari and clarifies that the servant who attains Allah's guardianship (wilaya) and protection is one who draws near to Allah by performing the obligatory duties, then the supererogatory acts, with sincerity and adherence to the Sunnah. In the Hadith, Allah says: "If I love him, I will be his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks Me, I will surely give him, and if he seeks refuge in Me, I will surely grant him refuge." This aligns with Allah's saying in the Qur'an: "Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve Those who believed and were fearing of Allah." As for the saying, "One jurisprudent is harder on Satan than a thousand worshippers," it is weak and not authentic. Even if it were authentic, it would mean that the scholar is harder on Satan because he adheres to the Book and the Sunnah and knows Satan's tricks, just as the superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is by the consensus of Muslims.
