The majority of scholars hold that it is permissible to accept a wicked person as a spouse, for religious commitment, in their view, is a condition for the completeness of the marriage, not for its validity. In contrast, some scholars believe it is not permissible to marry off to a wicked person, and they lean towards the view that associating with a wicked person is forbidden and boycotting them is obligatory, so how much more so in the intimacy of marriage.
