Is it permissible to complete a marriage with a girl who insists on taking a high dowry through an usurious loan, and rejects the prophetic narrations that warn against usury and advocate for facilitating marriage, knowing that the suitor fears hurting her feelings by breaking off the engagement?

You are not permitted to agree to this woman's request for a usurious loan, as it exposes you to Allah's punishment and His war, according to the Almighty's saying: {O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war from Allah and His Messenger} [Al-Baqarah: 278-279]. It has been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that: "A dirham of usury that a man consumes knowingly is more severe in the sight of Allah than thirty-six acts of fornication."

Convince this woman to abandon this religiously forbidden request. If she accepts and is a woman of religiosity and good character, then proceed with her proposal. If she insists, then there is no good in her. Remember that whoever abandons something for Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better. Also, warn her that you may be forced to leave her if she does not mend her ways.
