What is the ruling on setting a pre-recorded supplication as a mobile phone ringtone?

Du'a (supplication) should not be made into a mobile phone ringtone because it is an act of worship that must be glorified and protected from dishonor. Similarly, the mobile phone ringtone should be ordinary, not containing the remembrance of Allah or anything forbidden like music. Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan has issued a fatwa stating the impermissibility of using adhkar (remembrances), the Qur'an, or the adhan (call to prayer) as mobile phone ringtones, considering it an act of extremism and a trivialization of the Qur'an and adhkar.
