Is the husband who divorced his wife before consummating the marriage, a year and a half after the marriage contract was concluded, obligated to provide maintenance and other expenses?

If a man divorces his wife before consummating the marriage, he must pay her half of the agreed-upon Mahr if it was specified. Otherwise, she is entitled to a compensatory gift (mut'ah) according to the husband's financial standing. She is not entitled to maintenance (nafaqah) or lodging (sukna) after the divorce. As for before the divorce, maintenance is not obligatory unless the wife has made herself available. If she was available and the husband was the one refusing, then maintenance for the preceding days becomes obligatory.
