What is the ruling on a woman recording a welcome message for the telephone (switchboard) for callers to hear, especially if her manager at work instructs her to do so?

Scholars have differed on whether a woman's voice is 'awrah (something that must be concealed), and many have preferred the view that it is not 'awrah, as long as it does not involve softening or submissiveness in speech, based on the Almighty's saying: "Then do not be soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is disease should covet." It is advisable for the woman asking the question to apologize to the manager for recording the welcome message in her voice, in order to avoid what might lead to temptation (fitna).
