How can the promises of the verse, "And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger – those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions" ( النساء: ٦٩ ) be reconciled with the fact that the Jannah of the Foremost ( al-Muqarrabin ) is higher than the Jannah of the People of the Right ( Ashab al-Yamin ), even though those who obey Allah and His Messenger may be among the People of the Right? Will they then be in the same status but with different aspects, and does this apply to family members?
The companionship mentioned in the Holy Quran between prophets, righteous affirmers of truth (Siddiqeen), martyrs, and the righteous (Salihin) means their gathering in Paradise, and does not mean they are of the same rank. Rather, their ranks vary according to their deeds. Allah Almighty also bestows His favor upon His believing servants by elevating their children and spouses to their rank, even if they did not attain it by their deeds, as an honor to them.
