Is it permissible to give جاریه (perpetual charity) in the form of money, paid to charitable organizations periodically?

It is permissible to give money for establishing an ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), and to appoint trustworthy and religious individuals or charitable organizations to establish and implement it, whether the money is given in one lump sum or in installments, and whether it is sufficient to establish the charity on its own or in partnership with others.
