The answer

Istikharah (guidance-seeking prayer) is recommended for permissible matters. One can perform Istikharah for multiple issues, each separately. Divorce is permissible when there is a need for it, such as due to the wife's bad character or the husband being harmed by her. Do not rush to divorce your wife. You can marry another woman while maintaining justice between them. A husband's adherence to Allah's boundaries and his lowering of his gaze from forbidden things strengthens his conviction in his wife, whereas letting his gaze roam upon forbidden things causes him to lose interest in her. Affection between spouses requires patience, overlooking mistakes, and focusing on the good aspects. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Let no believing man despise a believing woman. If he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." A person may regret acting impulsively based on a fleeting desire for women, for he may not find in a second wife what he had expected.
