Is money earned from online surveys, using fake information and software to change the geographical location to circumvent country restrictions, permissible (halal) or forbidden (haram)?

As long as the survey is directed at residents of a specific country, it is not permissible for someone who does not meet the condition to resort to deception and answer the questionnaire to obtain compensation, because the condition for eligibility is not met, and because that may harm the survey creator.

Deception and fraud are not permissible, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever cheats is not of me," and "Cunning and deceit are in the Hellfire." Falsifying data is a forbidden falsehood, and the definition of falsehood is "describing something contrary to what it is."

The ways of earning a lawful living are many, and one dirham lawfully earned is better than a thousand dirhams unlawfully earned. Allah Almighty said: "Say, 'Not equal are the evil and the good, although the abundance of evil might impress you.' So fear Allah, O you of understanding, that you may be successful." And "Indeed, the Holy Spirit inspired in my heart that no soul will die until it completes its term and receives its full provision. So fear Allah and be moderate in seeking (provision), and do not let the delay in provision lead any of you to seek it by disobeying Allah, for Allah's bounty cannot be attained except through obedience to Him."
