Is it permissible to work temporarily in a company that imports cigarettes and tobacco to pay off debts and cover expenses, and to obtain academic qualifications that would help in finding another job in the field of computers with a better salary, knowing that the current job is not enough to meet the increasing living expenses and help the family?

It is not permissible to work for companies that sell prohibited items—such as tobacco and cigarettes—because if Allah forbids something, He also forbids its price. For every forbidden thing, taking compensation for it is forbidden, and the questioner's circumstances do not reach the level of necessity that would permit consuming what is unlawful. Therefore, it is advised to fear Allah, rely on Him, and supplicate frequently, for what is with Allah can only be attained through obedience to Him. "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect." And whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better.
