Is it obligatory to beat one who insults maharim (unmarriageable kin) and teachers, in accordance with the hadith: "A dayyuth (pimp/cuckold – one who has no ghira or protective jealousy over his womenfolk) will not enter Paradise"?

Insulting and demeaning a Muslim is forbidden, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Insulting a Muslim is wickedness, and fighting him is disbelief," and "It is enough evil for a person to belittle his Muslim brother."

The one who insults must repent and seek forgiveness. If he does so, accept his apology and forgive him. If he persists, you have three options:

1. The Best: Forgive and overlook, seeking God's forgiveness, following His saying: "And let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you?" 2. Leave his punishment to Allah, who will give him his due. 3. Retaliate against him by insulting him in kind only, without insulting his close relatives, for Allah says: "And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another." Striking or physical assault is not permissible; if you do so, you become an aggressor.

Your forgiveness of him is not diayouthah (pimping/cuckoldry); a diayouth is one who has no jealousy for his honor and condones evil and immorality among his family, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Three people whom Allah has forbidden from Paradise: the habitual drunkard, the disobedient to parents, and the diayouth who condones evil among his family."
