What is the ruling on a wife who assaulted her husband by hitting him in front of their children, and she and her mother cursed him, after he married another woman?

There is no doubt that beating a Muslim unjustly and insulting him are among the major sins, due to the warnings issued against those who commit them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah will punish those who punish people in this world," and he said: "Let none of you stand in a position where someone is beaten unjustly, for the curse descends upon those who are present when they do not defend him." Regarding insult, he said: "Insulting a Muslim is a transgression, and fighting him is disbelief." The Holy Quran forbade harming believers, as Allah Almighty says: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne a slander and a manifest sin." The sin becomes graver if the insulted person has a specific right over the one who insulted him. It is obligatory for those who committed these acts to repent to Allah Almighty. The harmed person is encouraged to forgive and pardon in pursuit of reward, as Allah Almighty says: "And those who restrain anger and pardon people - and Allah loves the doers of good," and His saying: "But whoever patiently endures and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination." As for the parents going to sorcerers and charlatans, this is not permissible, and they must be advised with wisdom and gentleness.
