Is it Islamically permissible to swear by placing one's hand on the Qur’an while vowing to tell the truth?

There is no harm in placing one's hand on the Mus'haf (copy of the Qur'an) when taking an oath to emphasize its seriousness. Placing one's hand on the Mus'haf is not a prerequisite for the validity of an oath, but it is permissible if the ruler deems it so. It is not permissible for a Muslim to place their hand on the Torah or the Gospel when taking an oath, due to their alteration and the abrogation of their laws. If a non-Islamic court compels a Muslim to swear on the Torah or the Gospel, he should request to place his hand on the Qur'an. If his request is not met, he is considered coerced, and there is no blame upon him, provided he does not intend to venerate them.
