Is people's alienation and distancing themselves from someone who harms no one and whose face is not cheerful, unintentionally, and who feels worry and grief due to the Prophetic Hadith: "The believer is affable, and there is no good in one who is not affable and with whom no one is affable," considered evidence of a lack of good in him according to the Hadith?

The Hadith: "A believer is approachable and friendly, and there is no good in one who is not friendly and not befriended," was narrated by Imam Ahmad, Al-Bazzar, and others. Some scholars, like Ibn Adi, deemed it objectionable, while others, like Al-Bazzar and Al-Daraqutni, declared it weak due to the presence of weakness and discontinuity in its various chains of narration.

Some scholars, such as Al-Albani, authenticated the Hadith. Its meaning is interpreted as a believer treating people well and refraining from harming them, so people become friendly with him and love him. As for one who is neither friendly nor befriended, it is someone who falls short in treating people or wrongs them, which indicates a deficiency in his faith.

A believer should be cheerful and smile in people's faces, and treat them well in word and deed. He should strive to achieve this, for good can be acquired through striving, and whoever seeks good will be granted it.
