If a traveler has not exceeded his bounds or been negligent with the trust, he is not liable for it, because his hand is a hand of trust, and a hand of trust incurs no liability except through negligence or exceeding bounds. So, if the trust is lost without his negligence, there is nothing upon him. However, if he was negligent or exceeded his bounds, such as entrusting it to an untrustworthy person while knowing this, then he is liable for it.
