How is the division of prayer between Allah and His servant manifested, taking into account the role of the Sunnah in clarifying and detailing the rulings of the Qur’an, and what are the types of this Sunnah?
Muslim narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever performs a prayer and does not recite the Opening of the Book therein, then it is incomplete," because Al-Fatihah is the foundation of the prayer, and the supplication within it is divided between the servant and his Lord.
As for the Sunnah, it is of three types: 1. It affirms and clarifies what is stated in the Quran, such as the pillars of Islam. 2. It elucidates various aspects of the Quran: clarifying its general statements (like the number of rak'ahs in prayer), specifying its generalities (like the prohibition of certain sales), restricting its absolutes (like the timing of a will), explaining its ambiguities (like interpreting injustice as polytheism), elaborating on its concise points (like the story of the People of the Ditch), abrogating some of its rulings (like abrogating the will for parents), and deriving sub-rulings from a Quranic principle (like prohibiting the unlawful consumption of people's wealth in forbidden contracts). 3. It mandates or prohibits rulings that the Quran was silent about, such as Zakat al-Fitr, the prohibition of marrying a woman concurrently with her paternal aunt or maternal aunt, and the prohibition of certain foods and garments.
