Is the umrah valid if a resident of Jeddah intends to perform it after finishing work and before traveling to Riyadh, or is he required to enter into ihram from the miqat?

The people of Riyadh should enter into ihram for Umrah from their prescribed miqat, Wadi Al-Sail, or its aerial equivalent. It is not permissible to delay the ihram until Jeddah, even if the resident intends to visit or work there. Whoever passes the miqat without ihram is obligated to offer a sacrifice (dam). As for someone who is hesitant about performing Umrah, they are not required to enter ihram from the miqat. If they decide to perform Umrah while in Jeddah, they should enter into ihram from Jeddah.
