Is competing in daily recitation of Surat Al-Baqarah considered an innovation (bid'ah), and is reciting it separately from Surat Al Imran sufficient?

The encouragement to recite Surat Al-Baqarah is well-established because it expels Satan from homes and protects against magic. It is narrated in the Hadith: "Recite Surat Al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, abandoning it is a cause of sorrow, and the sorcerers cannot overcome it," narrated by Muslim. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, also said: "Do not turn your homes into graves. Indeed, Satan flees from a house in which Surat Al-Baqarah is recited."

The virtue of reciting Surahs Al-Baqarah and Al-Imran together is also mentioned in the Hadith: "Recite the two luminous ones, Al-Baqarah and Al-Imran, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection as if they are two clouds or two shades or two flocks of birds in ranks, arguing on behalf of their reciters."

As for sisters competing to recite Surat Al-Baqarah daily, if the objective is to motivate oneself and encourage competition in good deeds, seeking the pleasure of Allah, then it is considered cooperation in righteousness and piety and competition in doing good, and it is not an innovation.
