What is the ruling on praying in a mosque built during a dispute between the villagers, how does this ruling change after reconciliation, and what is the ruling on establishing Friday prayers therein after the reason for its construction has ceased?

It is permissible to hold multiple Friday prayers to avert discord (fitna), and there is no blame on one who prays in the mosque where it was established. If the discord ceases, it is obligatory to return to praying in the first mosque. This is what Sheikh Illish Al-Maliki and Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami ruled. It is permissible to institute the Friday sermon in a zawiya (religious lodge) if fighting is feared should they go to the جامع (main mosque), and if there is no ruler to prevent them. They must be twelve or more, fulfilling the conditions for its obligation, and fear for a single person is not a justification for multiplicity. The ruling revolves around its cause; thus, if the animosity ceases, multiple Friday prayers are not permissible.
