What should I do regarding my wife, whom I discovered had a previous love relationship with a young man, and I found pictures of them together, knowing that she admits her mistake but I am unable to forgive her, and what is my position on this marriage?

If the wife has engaged in an emotional relationship with a foreign man, this is a grave transgression, for she has disobeyed her Lord and betrayed her husband. Allah Almighty says: "So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard."

If the wife repents and her conduct improves, the husband should keep her, treat her well, and forget what has passed. However, if she insists on disobedience, then divorcing her is better, lest she corrupt his bed and attribute a child to him who is not his. Ibn Qudamah said: "Divorce is recommended when a woman neglects the rights of Allah, or when she is not chaste, and it may be obligatory."

The husband should not be absent from his wife for more than six months without her permission, and he should strive for her to reside with him. Spying on her is not permissible unless there is a justification, such as the appearance of suspicion.
