What is your opinion of those who expel people of virtue from the mosque because they declare the people of innovation to be disbelievers and speak about loyalty and disavowal, and how should one deal with them?

Reviling Allah the Almighty is a major disbelief that expels one from the fold of Islam. Whoever is found doing so must be advised and reminded of the gravity of their action, and informed that no deed is beneficial with disbelief. Aggressing against scholars and harming them is forbidden, and it is obligatory to revere and respect them. If advice does not work and they continue to revile Allah and harm scholars, their matter must be reported to the competent authorities to deter them. A scholar should be wise in his call. If people are averse to declaring someone an apostate who deserves to be so declared, he should not openly declare them as such. Instead, he should take another path, explaining the disbelief of actions or beliefs with gentleness and wisdom, and how they contradict the Quran and Sunnah, without openly mentioning the names of the innovators. Allah the Almighty said: "Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good counsel, and debate with them in the best manner" (An-Nahl: 125). And He said: "So by mercy from Allah, you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you" (Al-Imran: 159). Thus, it is not enough for the one who possesses the truth to merely have the truth; rather, truth must be accompanied by gentleness, leniency, and wisdom.
