Is it permissible for an adult woman to help a blind man cross the street if he asks her and she is the only one present?

Among the Islamic legal guidelines concerning the relationship between a man and a non-mahram woman are: prohibiting speaking except when necessary, forbidding a woman from speaking in a soft and alluring manner (khudu' bil-qawl) as stated in the Qur'an: "So do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech," and prohibiting shaking hands and physical touching. However, if there is no one to help a blind person except a non-mahram woman, she is permitted to assist him in crossing the road, provided that her conversation with him is limited to what is necessary, she does not speak in a soft and alluring manner, and she does not directly hold his hand. Instead, she should give him something, like her bag, for him to hold while crossing the road. This is safer for both of them from temptation.
