Is it permissible for the fornicator to marry the woman with whom he committed fornication while they are both married, given her attempt to divorce her husband in order to marry him?

Adultery is a grave indecency. Allah has threatened those who commit it with punishment, as He says: (And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an indecency and is evil as a way.) [17:32]. Whoever commits this sin must repent to Allah with sincere repentance and abandon this evil path. It is impermissible to marry an adulteress or an adulterer except after their repentance, for Allah says: (The fornicator does not marry except a [female] fornicator or polytheist, and none marries her except a fornicator or a polytheist, and that has been made unlawful for the believers.) [24:3]. If they repent after the sin, then it is permissible for them to marry. If the woman is married, she must fear Allah, observe her husband's rights, and safeguard his bed, and not return to this act after her repentance. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against those who seek to separate spouses, saying: "He is not of us who incites a woman against her husband."
