What is the ruling on blowing on food with the mouth to cool it for a hungry child?

Blowing on food is absolutely disliked (makrooh), whether for children or adults, because the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, forbade it. Indeed, Ahmad narrated from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them: "That the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, forbade blowing on food and drink."
