Is it permissible for a man who wears a wool winter hat to line it with satin or silk to preserve the health of his hair and scalp, knowing that it is forbidden for men to wear silk unless they are ill?

It is forbidden for men to wear natural silk, based on what was narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Indeed, these two are forbidden for the males of my nation," and his saying: "And whoever from my nation wears silk and dies while wearing it, Allah will forbid the silk of Paradise for him." An exception to this is wearing silk for treatment and medication, such as for itching, illness, or to repel lice, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted Az-Zubayr and Abdur-Rahman to wear silk due to an itch they had. As for artificial silk, there is no harm in wearing it. Therefore, if there is no illness, it is not permissible to wear natural silk.
