How should the grandmother—the father's mother—act regarding her mother's dying wish for her to perform 'Umrah on her behalf after her death? Is it obligatory for her to go herself, or is it permissible for her to delegate one of her brothers to perform it? And who has a greater right to go with her as a mahram?

A woman's will to perform 'Umrah on her behalf must be executed if it falls within one-third of the inheritance or less. If it exceeds that, it is not to be executed except with the consent of the heirs. If the designated female executor is unable to perform 'Umrah herself, she may recuse herself from the executorship, and the heirs shall then manage the funds by appointing someone else to perform 'Umrah on behalf of the deceased. If the designated female executor wishes to carry out the will, she should travel herself to perform 'Umrah on the deceased's behalf, bearing in mind the differing opinions regarding the requirement of a mahram for journeys of obedience, and knowing that she must have first performed 'Umrah for herself.
