Is it permissible to recite a daily portion (wird) of the Qur'an with the intention of giving charity, if a person is unemployed and has no private income?

Not all people are able to [perform] all acts of goodness. So, whoever is unable to [give] financial charity, let him strive in other acts of righteousness. Reading the Qur’an with the intention of charity is permissible, for every glorification (tasbih), praise (tahmid), declaration of God's oneness (tahlil), enjoining of good, and forbidding of evil is charity. And all other forms of remembrance (adhkar) and acts of worship are considered charities upon oneself.
