The answer

It is recommended to be patient and make frequent supplications for the betterment of the situation between the mother and the husband. It is also advisable to offer them advice, or to delegate someone who holds influence with them to remind them of the blessing of marital kinship and to show gratitude for this blessing through good companionship.

If reconciliation is not possible, then it is obligatory to obey the husband in moving to wherever he wishes, unless he stipulated before the marriage contract that he would not take her out of her country. The husband's right takes precedence over the mother's right when there is a conflict.

It is permissible to try to convince the husband to reside in the same town so that the wife can be close to her mother, and to seek someone to keep the mother company in her solitude.
