Is a man's work accepted while he is in a state of ritual impurity (junub)?

All acts of worship that do not require ritual purity are valid for one who is in a state of major ritual impurity (junub), such as fasting, charity, and glorification (tasbih). However, acts that do require ritual purity, such as prayer (salat), circumambulation (tawaf), and reading the Quran, are forbidden to him until he purifies himself. This is based on Allah's saying: "And if you are in a state of major ritual impurity, then purify yourselves" (Quran 5:6), and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Allah does not accept prayer without purity," and "Circumambulation is prayer." Furthermore, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was not prevented from reading anything except major ritual impurity."
