Is it permissible for one who is in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) to listen to the the Qur'an?

Scholars have mentioned things that are forbidden for a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub), including prayer, circumambulation (tawaf), touching the Mus-haf (the physical copy of the Qur’an), reciting the Qur’an, and staying in the mosque. According to the Malikis, writing the Qur’an is also forbidden, as is touching dirhams that have any Qur'anic verses on them, and carrying the Qur’an except out of necessity. However, listening to the recitation of the Qur’an, as well as glorifying Allah (tasbeeh), proclaiming His greatness (takbeer), declaring His oneness (tahleel), making supplications (du'a), and reading Prophetic Ahadith, are all permissible.
