Is a wife considered irrevocably divorced after her husband divorced her three times—two of which were official divorces in Sweden and one an Islamic divorce in his home country—then he returned to her, claiming the divorce was made under duress, knowing that she is still legally divorced in Sweden?
If a husband pronounced a divorce upon his wife twice in Sweden for any reason, and he divorced her legally in his country, then she is forbidden to him until she marries another husband and he consummates the marriage with her, and then he divorces her. He is not permitted to return to her before that. This is by agreement of the scholars if he had reconciled with her between each divorce. However, if he did not pronounce the divorce twice but only appeared in court, then he would have divorced her only once. If he reconciled with her before the waiting period (iddah) expired, then she remains under his marital bond. He is not permitted to travel away from her for more than six months except with her consent. And if he did not reconcile with her until her waiting period expired, then she is irrevocably separated from him, and she is not lawful for him except with a new marriage contract.
