Are the supplications mentioned in the Hadith: "In Your name, O Allah, I die and live" and "Praise be to Allah who revived us after He caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection," a Sunnah for the Ummah or specific to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him? And what is the evidence for that?

This reported remembrance (dhikr) is not exclusive to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him; rather, every Muslim should say it upon going to sleep, emulating him. It is: "O Allah, in Your name I die and I live." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, also taught his Companions other remembrances before sleep, such as performing ablution as for prayer, lying on the right side, and saying: "O Allah, I have surrendered my face to You..." as well as saying Subhan Allah, Allahu Akbar, and Al-hamdulillah thirty-three times before sleeping.
