What is the ruling on listening to songs after separating the music from them using a specialized program, while being careful to choose songs that do not contain words of love or flirtation, and which are mostly foreign?

Music should not be separated from songs, as it is considered a means of temptation (fitnah), and Islamic law blocks off paths to temptation. This action entails corruptions, among them: immersion in listening to songs when they are separated, and attachment to singers and their songs, which may strengthen whims and desires (hawa) and remove one's disapproval [of wrong]. Additionally, addiction to songs leads to turning away from the Noble Qur’an and adopting them as a way of life. Songs, especially foreign ones, have a stricter prohibition and a greater temptation, as they contain corruption in their lyrics, meanings, and the state of their people. It is incumbent upon the Muslim to strive against their self to love the Qur’an and ponder its meanings.
