Is a husband entitled to prevent his wife from visiting her family, to curse her, and to curse her family with inappropriate words? And is it permissible for the wife to say, "Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best Disposer of affairs," concerning her husband and his family because of that?

Brothers are blood relatives who must be honored and maintained ties with. A Muslim should maintain ties with their relatives and help others maintain ties with theirs. The wife and children are the man's responsibility, and he is accountable for them. It is not permissible for a man to prevent his wife's closest relatives from visiting her, unless he is certain or has a strong suspicion that they will corrupt his wife or cause him harm. He is not allowed to prevent her based merely on doubts and delusions.

The wife is advised to be patient and counsel her husband. She is permitted to communicate with her sisters by phone or similar means without his knowledge. She can also arrange with her brothers to meet at the family home without her husband's knowledge.

A husband cursing his wife and her sister is forbidden. His assault on her without cause is considered a major sin. Allah has commanded that wives be treated with kindness, and a husband harming his wife by cursing or similar actions permits her to seek a divorce.
