Are lunar and solar eclipses a sign of increasing sins on Earth?

The sun and the moon are two of Allah's signs, through which Allah frightens His servants. If an eclipse occurs, it is a warning from Allah, the causes of which may be an abundance of sins and disobedience. Therefore, upon witnessing an eclipse, Muslims must hasten to the remembrance of Allah, performing prayer, supplication, seeking forgiveness, giving charity, and freeing slaves. These phenomena, although having known astronomical causes, do not preclude them from being a means of instilling fear and warning from Allah.
