Is it necessary to observe a specific direction when wiping the feet during ablution?

When performing ablution (wudu'), the feet must be washed if one is able, not merely wiped. If washing them is proven to be harmful, then they should be wiped directly. If one is unable to do either, a splint should be placed and wiped over. It is not a condition to face a specific direction when washing or wiping the feet; rather, it is recommended to face the Qiblah throughout the entire ablution. When wiping over the leather socks (khuffayn) after a complete purification, there is no requirement to face a specific direction; rather, it is permissible to face any direction. It is recommended to begin with the front part of each limb when washing it, but this is not obligatory.
