There is no objection to working on the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Seek treatment, for Allah, the Almighty, has not sent down a disease without also sending down its cure, except for one disease: old age." As for articles that involve justifying indecency and immorality, it is not permissible to publish them because they constitute aiding in sin, based on the Almighty's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression," and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "And whoever calls to misguidance will bear a burden of sin similar to the sins of those who follow him." If the purpose of collecting the articles is to benefit from them in treating sexually transmitted diseases or for useful scientific studies, without publishing anything that promotes evil, then there is no objection. However, if the purpose is to publish or summarize them in a way that promotes forbidden relationships, then participation is not permissible. Adultery is one of the most heinous crimes, and whenever it spreads among a people, general punishments descend upon them, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whenever indecency becomes manifest among a people, to the extent that they declare it openly, plagues and pains that did not exist among their ancestors will spread among them."
