Is one sinful who intended to give a specific woman charity, then forgot and used it?

Voluntary charity (Sadaqat al-Tatawwu') is not made binding by intention, but by the recipient taking possession of it. As long as possession has not been taken, there is no harm in utilizing the money, especially if the delay was due to forgetfulness. It is, however, recommended to give the lady what was promised to her.
