To what extent is the hadith "Recite Surah Yasin over your dead, and Yasin is for what it has been recited for" authentic, and does its reward reach the deceased?

Ahmad, Abu Dawud, and Ibn Majah reported the hadith, "Recite Yasin over your dead." However, the hadith is weak due to the presence of unknown narrators in its chain of transmission. As for the phrase, "Yasin is for that for which it is recited," it has no basis. The arrival of the recitation of the Quran to the deceased has already been explained.
