If he does get the money, he has the option to divorce or not, and it is better for him not to divorce because divorce is disliked in Islamic law. However, if he said, "If money comes, then you are divorced," this is a conditional divorce that takes effect upon the fulfillment of the condition.

Sheikh Ibn 'Uthaymeen clarified that a husband's statement: "There will be a separation between us" or "I will divorce you" is not a conditional divorce, but rather a promise, and the divorce does not occur unless it is executed.

The husband should fear Allah and avoid using divorce when angry, and the wife should cooperate and be patient with her husband's circumstances.
