Did the divorce legally occur between the spouses with the repeated utterance of the word of divorce in varying situations, and the husband's claim of not being in full mental capacity at the time of some of them, and is it permissible for them to return to each other?

If the second, third, fourth, and fifth pronouncements of divorce occur during a state of extreme anger, they are not counted, and only the first pronouncement remains valid if it was uttered not in anger. A man's statement to his wife, "You are not my wife," is considered a metaphorical divorce (طلاق كناية) if he intended divorce by it. Having witnesses for divorce is recommended but not a condition for its occurrence or validity, as divorce takes place simply by uttering it.
