Is it permissible to eat chocolates and sweets that contain a small percentage of alcohol, and is it permissible to gift them?

If khamr (wine/alcohol) transforms from its original state by any means, it becomes pure and transitions into another substance. Consequently, there is no harm in eating what it has been mixed with, or in gifting it, or benefiting from it in any way.
