The answer

Abandoning prayer is among the greatest sins. Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said, "There is no share in Islam for one who abandons prayer." And the is obligatory for women, as Allah Almighty says: "O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments" and His saying: "And let them wrap their headcovers over their bosoms." Do not be saddened by the mockery of your family, and emulate Noah, peace be upon him. Try to reform your family through advice and supplication. If the one who abandons prayer is an apostate, there is no make-up for them, but making up the missed prayers is safer as a precaution. There is no expiation upon you for your delay in wearing the hijab except sincere repentance, for "the one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin."
